Interesting POV, Gautami. What I've found useful is to temper my expectations of how I should feel.

One of the weird things in life is that the more you chase a positive feeling, the more aware you become of your lack of it. Which is a negative experience.

But when you stop expecting to feel good all the time, and seek meaningful suffering instead (in pursuit of something worthwhile like better health, skill acquisition, better relationships, etc.) you end up feeling good.
