Nailed it, Matthew! I have no problem with people making a living as teachers, IF they have something to teach other than 'how to make money by teaching'.
Who wouldn't want to pay for someone to teach them how to be a better writer, coder, researcher, accountant, etc. But if your whole thing is "here's how I made $500 by telling people how I made $!00" then you're basically running a content pyramid scheme.
