You're spot on. My childhood equipped me to deal with the challenges of adulthood- I fully appreciate that not everybody has that privilege. In fact, I don't need to look far, as my wife had a very different experience to me growing up which has made certain situations in adulthood very challenging for her. But it's also made her incredibly strong and resourceful.

None of us come out of this life unscathed- but hopefully we're able to recognise our strengths and have others to lean on for the bits we're not so good at :)
